About the event
Matapiro Bridge will officially open to the public at 11 am on Saturday 28 June, marking the project's completion.
The opening has been scheduled for a Saturday to allow the community to come together and celebrate this important milestone.
Speakers on the day will include mana whenua group Te Piringa Hapū, Councillor Ana Apatu, and Project Manager Jonathan Pozyn. Following the formalities, a catered lunch will be held at Matapiro Hall.
The design for the Pou that will be installed at Matapiro Bridge at a later date, will also be unveiled.
This is a special chance for the community to mark the completion of the bridge works. If you’d like to contribute ideas or support the event in any way, please get in touch with jessicaca@hdc.govt.nz.
