Trap Library
Why it matters
In January 2026, we started a project along the Tūtaekurī River. We installed approximately 10kms of trapline on the South side of the River, from Puketapu Bridge to Dartmoor Bridge. This mirrored the trapline on the North side set by the Kaweka Community Catchment Collective (KCCC).
Working together as a collaborative we now have 90 traps either side of the river. The data is recorded on Trap NZ and we have an amazing team of volunteers who man this. We discovered there was an interest in trapping and felt a Trap Library would be a good resource to offer our catchment.
The Between the Two Rivers Trap Library gives landowners access to effective predator-control equipment without the cost of purchasing their own traps.
Our library includes AT220 automatic traps, DOC 200s and DOC 250s, helping landowners target pest species across farms, waterways, natives or their back yard.
By working together, we can build a connected predator - control network across our catchment.
